Brain Dump

We have been trying for weeks to catch a smile on camera .. DO you have any idea how hard that is?!?!!? ... Well tonight He just was sooo happy and coo-ing and being all giddy. I thought for sure my husband could get at least one on camera (since i was holding him and I am the main photographer for the family) .. We got the tail end of plenty of them but never the big huge gummy grin that makes my heart sail into utopia. I cannot even begin to describe the feeling I get when I see him smile. It just makes my heart melt. Wanna see?

Here are some other pictures - I have had a few free moments today to play with my software.

MT is his ever loved boppy:

I realized tonight - (well I realized a while ago I just admitted it tonight) there are things that I could have NEVER in a million years imagined that I would be doing as far as my parenting style. We both are very comfortable with having MT in our bed. He does not sleep there alot of hours, He does have a crib and a packnplay but his first morning feeding (5/6 am) He likes to just fall asleep on my chest - and I absolutely love it. Before MT was here, I had big plans ..Huge plans ... Plans that involved Him sleeping IN HIS CRIB, IN his room from the very first night when we got home ... Yah he has napped a few naps in there but Not many ...

Breastfeeding/Pumping - I love it. It works for us. It is hard work but now that I am working on getting more comfortable with breastfeeding - I really do love it. It was painfree until my first period (which my dr says was not a period because it was in the post partum window) I got very sore/senstive ni.pple.s. The residual pain is still there but lessening each day. We only actually breast feed about 3 times a day. I can not tell you HOW AGAINST bF-ing i was. No really .. I was NOT A FAN . It grossed me out, freaked me out, made me jealous, brought up alot of negative, bad, weird feelings. I am now admitting I like it. I know it is not for everyone and I am very ok with that.

There are so many things that I hear myself pre-baby in my house, pre-situation saying and I am still continuing to eat my words hourly/daily.
I have wrote about this before (quite a few times actually) .. I will probably write about it again.

I ordered this new sling , so far, hands down, easiest/best to use. Thanks to Becoming Mom for showing me the site! LOVE IT, MT loves it. It is super convenient and very do-able.

Ok - we are taking MT up to Wis. to see E's Dad's side of the family in a month. To say I am nervous is beyond unstated. I need to find out the airline rules for babies, carseats, liquids, what is considered a liquid, etc all that stuff that is so new to me. Boy I couldn't make a lil road trip for 5 hours ... and now I am putting myself and my child on a plane .. WHy am i So freaked out by all of this? It will/does get easier right? I really need to find some local people that just had a child the same time I did. I think It will do us some good. This is my goal this week!

Tech Support- I want to switch from blo.glines to google r.eader - Is there an import function? Or do I have to start over?? Can anyone help?

So there is my brain dump ... Such I apologize now?

He is SO cute!!

I always thought I would be one of those anti-cosleeper people. My sister changed my mind though. She said she loved having her baby sleep on her chest, and they both slept better. Same as you, she did this mostly for after the early morning feeding. But they both loved it. She knew he was safe and could feel him breathing.

Inferility taught me that what is right for one person isn't right for another - and I'm trying to carry that into other aspects of my life. Just because I do or do not want to do something doesn't make it right or wrong for someone else...if that makes sense?

Every parent eats his/her words over and over and over again. Now that you have a child and are experiencing everything, you'll likely start giving an internal eye roll every time you hear a soon to be mom use the "I will never" line about certain parenting decisions she's yet to actually experience. But, you'll just keep your mouth shut and let her figure it out on her own, b/c you've been there yourself.

I said I'd NEVER be a co-sleeper..just NEVER..wouldn't happen. Then LG slept with us for almost a year, lol...and I loved it.

I'm so glad you guys have gotten the hang of bfing. It really is a special experience once you get past the beginning.

He's is absolutely beautiful! There's nothing better than seeing your child's smile. I also said I'd never co-sleep, but Isaiah ends up in bed with us...a lot. Glad breastfeeding is going well for you guys now.

Cute & his eye lashes are the loveliest. Yes switcing fro bloglines to reader is easy. I just switched last month. I think reader has instructions (can't remember fully but you get to save your bloglines feed as a file & import that file to reader). If you can't find the google help file, drop me a line & I'll write you step by step instructions.)

He's such a cutie!!

I hear you on the co-sleeping. I was SO against it initially, but at 3am when baby won't settle down, curling up in bed iwht him seems to do it. And then I get to hear him breathing and snuggle all night. It is priceless.

Thanks for the sling link...I just ordered one. I have a bit of a shopping problem...

He is so beautiful Farah, I'm certain you're doing an amazing, amazing job. I can't weigh in on the parenting part until he turns about three :) -- but when that happens I'm all over the advice!

Beautiful smile!

I think Google Reader does have an import function. I've never done it, but I know I've seen one.

I'm here by way of Here We Go Again, Jen's Blog. I have a question about lovenox/heparin. I've been told that I can stop lovenox at 36 weeks but am afraid of ceasing a blood thinner all together - what did you do? My e-mail is alicerabbit at blogspot dot com or you can go to my blog - if you have time!!!! Thanks a million! And what a beautiful kid you have!!!

Brain dumps are always fun to read :-) I love that you captured the smiles on camera...what a cutie! I have to smile when I read what you said about breastfeeding. I used to be like no way will I ever breastfeed - it freaked me out. Now I have completely changed my tune and will at least try. If I don't continue it, that's okay. But I'll try. What is good for one person is not always good for all - and I think this whole infertility, and bumpy pregnancy have taught me that more than other. It's more important to support others in their decisions and keep an open mind :-) I hope you find some helpful hints for traveling with MT so you can have a good trip when the time comes :-)

Oh, I can't wait to see T smile! She has gotten close I think but no real gummy grins yet. MT is so precious. We too have planned a plane trip! My MIL recommended that we keep T in the carseat until we get on the plane and then check it at the gate. We will need to fit the base in a suitcase but should be able to check the carseat. I think you can bring as much breastmilk/ formula as you need for your baby. I agree- travelling with an infant will be a different world!!!

Your posts always make me think about a lot of stuff and I find myself smiling a lot - that I know what you mean smile! -

Yes, parenting introduce us to a whole new world, that sometimes we thought we were never met or experience.... and know what, I believe that is the beauty of it!

There are no right or wrong, you just go with what you feel.

PS..MT smiling is just so so so CUTE!!!

Those little smiles are the sweetest...

I flew with my son when he was 6 weeks... he has flown 16 round trips in his 4 years! Let MT nurse or have a bottle at take-off and landing, and he'll do great, I'm sure. There's lots of info out there with the regulations for bringing liquids. If you've bought him his own seat (you don't have to until he's 2, but it can be helpful to have his own space) than his carseat should fit in no problem. Good luck with it all.

I am glad things are going well for you no matter what parenting things you have decided to do or not do. It is the choice of you and E anyway.

A couple of pieces of assvice about your trip. See if they have a second hand gear store near them. (like Once.upon.a.child. or something similar.) Have them buy a few things. It save you from having to lug stuff on the plane and they can sell it back for store credit. THey won't need it for long periods and by the time you come back, mt probably will be past the weight limit and then they won't have to buy new. My sister has done that on the few long distance trips she has taken and then she can pack more stuff she will need rather than take up space with bouncy seats and other equipment. Unless you are going to buy a seat ticket for the baby, you will most likely have to baggage check a car seat. CHildren under 1 (Maybe older) can be carried on the plane and sit on your lap. Not sure about the liquid thing though. hope that helps atleast a little.

I am sooo glad that the BF/pumping is going so well! And also very glad to hear that you're going with the flow and not stressing about the grand plans that you had and instead focusing on what works for you and the boys (MT and E)!

Google Reader rocks and you can definitely import from bloglines!

As far as the co-sleeping goes...not sure how we'd arrange that. Queen sized bed + me + husband + two babies = someone getting pushed out (i.e. husband) The poor guy's only slept in the bed with me on one or two occassions since I started getting sick. ;-) Maybe if we get a bigger bed!!

That is a perfect sling!! Very versitile!(wish I had one!)
Sweet, dear happy pictures!!
Isn't it amazing how we change as women into mothers. I was going to be one of the mom's that let them "cry it out" in their own crib. YEAH RIGHT!! We've enjoyed every moment with each child!!
And don't worry (if you do want more) about having another one "too" soon...it just extends this wonderful time of infanthood. It's not harder or difficult, it's just different. You'll be amazed at what you can do as each one comes!
*just my thoughts
