28 weeks = 196 days, 3rd Trimester, and still pregnant

Thank you for helping my anxiety yesterday. My MIL is still in town with the youngest 3 and the BFF of the 15 yr old girl. I calculated on my way to work this morning, and my MIL is only 14+ years older than me ...(i am n ot sure i ever explained that before) My husband has been off work these past 2 days (his normal days off -while i had to work) so he is having to entertain them mostly. I think company leaves tomorrow sometime - Well enough of that .....

p-speak

Today I officially enter the 3rd trimester w/o any debate. (i may have entered it sooner - but today my dr's recognize it !!!!!!) Yes, really pinch me, I made it. This just seems like a Ginormous milestone for me mentally. I am just awe-struck and in total shock that I have made it this far. If you would have told me that I would be celebrating a 28 week- 3rd trimester mark in a pregnancy a yr ago - I would have twitched in fear that It would never happen! But, here I am, and I am beyond thrilled and at a loss of words. Still feeling More and Less confident every day - yes they contradict each other. I know What a difference a yr make.

According to here - I have 32% left of this pregnancy! 68% behind me.

Branches of lungs are quite developed now, so there is a good chance that baby would survive if born prematurely now. If your baby is born this week, the chances of survival is now at least 90 percent. However, some complications are still possible.

Your baby's eye lashes are developing, as subcutaneous fat is deposited. If you have a baby boy, his testes will probably begin descending. Your baby is about 13.8 inches long (35 cms) and weighs about 2 pounds 4 ounces (1 kilogram)!

As for my symptoms - Dreams are becoming much more frequent and bizarre by the sleeps. I am finding more pillows = better nights sleeps.

Kicks are often and loved!

I am having some swelling towards the end of the days when I am constantly on my feet. I should have already had my gtt test last friday and totally forgot about it. I will get it done this friday before my monthly ob appointment. That way I can say - Yes it's done ..opps it's late.

I am still hovering around 8lb-10lbs gain total weight gain. Some days I assume I retain more water then others? I am trying not to pack on the lbs and continue to eat as healthy as I can. I have found that I get lazy with my selections lately and choose easy not so good for you stuffs.

I am going to order that dress I mentioned a few posts ago! You guys all helped talk me into it! Thank you very much - I can't wait to have it. Maybe I will go to a craft store and try and find a satin blue ribbon and replace the hot pink ..or not

Things that come off my to-do list:

Pre-register with the hospital

schedule child birth class

Things on my to-do list:

put together a nursery

pick a pediatrician

start mentally preparing for a live birth - HOLY .. this really scares me

Discuss Maternity Leave with my work

Breathe/Relax/Enjoy

I am sure there will be more and more added to this list as the days go on - but here I am right now - just enjoying, smiling and celebrating where I have been and where I am now and who I have met along the way. Each of you bless me an many ways! Thank you does not explain the gratitude my heart and soul feel for each of you.

Look at you, 3rd trimester. This is amazing and wonderful; immensely inspiring!
I am so glad things are going to smoothly in your pregnancy.
Love the dress!! The blue bow idea is adorable, but the pink sure is cute, too. Either way, you will be one hot mama!

It should! Haha, I'm kidding..please know that. It's different for every woman, and if you're mentally preparing for it now then I'm sure you're going to do great! BTW, if you figure out a good technique to mentally handle labor, please let me know for next time....I was a mess during labor. I had planned on having an epidural all along, and when it didn't work...well, I was up a creek. I hadn't planned to feel the pain, so I didn't know how to handle it.

I love how we both had the "when does this third trimester actually begin?!" debate! Congrats on 28 weeks! Your to-do list looks pretty much on target with mine. So glad we are going through this at the same time (although even though you are further along I bet I pop my twins out first :) So I can scare you with live birth stories. Haha, just kidding!

Yay, it's the 3rd trimester!!! Now, assvice alert re your to do list. I would get started on the nursery sooner rather than later. I found it hard to work on the room later in pregnancy just because it has become so much harder to get around. If you have lots of help, wait as long as you like!

Hoooray!!! I am so excited for you.

And as I always tell women who arrive at this milestone and worry -- rest assured that I am a 26 week baby and here I am -- no complications (other than my long face as preemies evidently are known for their oval faces...)

:)

My thoughts are with you!

Love,

Pam

Congrats on reaching the 3rd trimester! Sorry for not commenting a lot recently - I have my moments where pg blogs are ok, and other moments where I can't read them. I'm so glad to hear things are going well though.

A HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That's phenomenal. And very inspiring. Having just entered the second the third still seems like a lifetime away.....

Glad the cramping went away. I wouldn't be surprised if the baby was really pushing on your intestines. I already notice that I feel considerably different when my intestines are full vs. empty. It's bizarre! But I only imagine that a larger baby would make even more of an impact even though your uterus is a bit higher than mine at this point.

Any interest in coming over to clean my refrigerator? I almost never do a thorough cleaning like that and hope that guests don't notice. :-)

XOXO

Hey chickie! I was just in Vegas and SWORE I saw you walking down the street! haha. She had the same hair you have, the same build, was pg and wearing a shirt similar to ones I've seen on you in photos. This was all from the back/side though. I have no idea if she really looked like you. Crazy huh?

Hooray for the third trimester! You have made it Farah!!! That has to be an overwhelmingly fantasic feeling to have reached this milestone.

I'm hoping that there will be a post in your future about some of your dreams (I have been collecting mine to share at some point)!

Welcome to 3rd trimester!! I must warn you of the bad - sleep gets worse and more uncomfortable and hands and feet swell like balloons. But...the good thing is you're that much closer to meeting your little one!! That's my prize I keep looking to every time I'm uncomfortable.
