Randoms

Lately my mood has been quite sour. And it doesn’t take much to push me over the edge. (not like it did before) just seems more recently my fuse has shortened. I am working on this because it really frustrates me to be like this. It’s over little things that set off bigger things – and it just makes me more frustrated with myself.
This is probably the reason of my last post about store bashing – although I still find those return policies quite uncalled for.

Random question for the week – Does anyone’s husband, boyfriend, male sleeping partner radiate heat of 10000 degrees when you sleep with them? (I assume this is a male thing – or is it a human thing and not just male) My husband is on a different shift and home at night with me for the first time in 8 months. The only problem now is that his body temperature is SO UNGODLY HOT that I insist on him not touching me while I sleep. (tmi alert) I woke up all weekend just sticky and sweaty from him. I had to change my pj’s every night (This could get costly buying pj’s and doing laundry) Is this due to the P-word?

We are going to K.ey.W.e.st this weekend for a wedding. I have family down there and I am looking forward getting out of work for a day and spending time with my family and friends. I need to get away from work in a big way – it is usually were the majority of my frustration lies.

p-word mentioned (for documentation purposes)

39% of your pregnancy has passed, there is 61% left to go

I am 17 (119 days) weeks today and I could not be excited about this. Before I have been feeling air bubbles and weird shifty feelings, now I feel more of those and stronger feelings/sensations. It really is just so amazing and I am so glad that I am experiencing this. I have noticed that tata’s are aching still – it comes in waves. I am ex.perie.ncing r.ound lig.ament pa.ins.

I love that my baby is referred to as a size of a pomegranate:Your baby is anywhere from 4.4 to 5.5 inches by pregnancy week 17 and weighs almost 3 ½ -5 ounces! If you were to hold your baby at 17 weeks pregnant, she would fit snuggly in the palm of your hand. Your baby is about the size of a small pomegranate by pregnancy 17 weeks. At 17 weeks pregnant your uterus will start changing shape as your pregnancy progresses, to resemble a large egg instead of a round ball. It will gradually grow to inhabit most of your pelvis and abdomen. While this happens your organs, including your intestines get pushed to the sides. By this point in time you will likely be showing a little bit, though some women are still able to hide their pregnancies for many weeks to come.

Here is my favorite part (being that I work in a la.te.nt section):And here's some proof that your baby is truly one of a kind (as if you needed any!). Within the next week or so, the pads on your baby's fingertips and toes will become adorned with completely individual swirls and creases (aka fingerprints)”

YES. My husband is ridiculously hot!! And when I would have high progesterone in my body from treatments (like when you're pg), I could hardly stand sleeping near him!

It's a scientific fact that male humans tend to burn energy at a higher rate and radiate more heat than women.

Okay, how FAT do I feel that I am already not fitting my pants or jackets at EIGHT weeks?!? I haven't gained any weight, and I wouldn't say I am "showing," but a good friend said that I am definitely "rounder." I think that is pretty much a nice word for "fat."

I do like the pomegranate size comparison, it seems like a random fruit, but at least I know exactly what size. When they tell me that my baby is the size of a fava bean, it really doesn't help. Who has actually ever seen or eaten a FAVA bean?

YUP! Mook radiates heat--it is the weirdest thing...drives me nuts ;)

Glad all is progressing so well!

Mr. W is a human furnace. I love to tuck my feet under his legs when we first get into bed (he hates this since my feet are like ice cubes).

I'm sorry you're having anger issues. I'm sure it's due to those lovely hormones. Please try to not kill anyone. :-)

Hooray for pomegranate babies with fingerprints!!! Congrats on 17 weeks!

I have been getting so hot at night... and that wasn't the case before I was pregnant. I don't sleep near as well.

And yes, things irritate the crap out of me!

YES, my DH is very hot to sleep with and it is not pregnancy related. In fact I have some relief now. The Snoogle is in between us so he can't ever touch me (good and bad of course!) So I do not deal with his heat at all. Try getting the snoogle!

My husband is the same way!

My husband is hot too! When I was pregnant, or on crappy clomid it seemed to be worse. I guess my temperature was up so laying next to him just made more heat. Good luck with getting any decent sleep.

JD is always so hot, I've thought that he could power the earth.

Since his foot surgery though, he always seems to be cold. Well, maybe it's just that he is sensing temperature like a human rather than being protected by all his fur.

Yes, my husband is a human furnace. He always kicks off the blankets and I'm always scrambling to put them back on. It's an endless struggle.

I would think it is pg related. I now have to sleep in my sleep bra and undies and NO covers. I get SO hot. I hope it eases up for you. :[

That's awesome mini vann is the size of a pomegranate:)

Will def gives out tons of heat. I wake up sweating at times when he and I are home at the same time. Totally sucks.

Sorry your moods are so rough right now. Darn hormones, I hate them! But things will get better b/c I'm sending hugs and prayers your way:)

How crazy is it that you're nearly half-way done with your pregnancy? It seems like just a couple of weeks ago you were POAS.

I've been hot at night too lately. Not sure if it has to do with the husband but maybe I should blame him anyway ;-)

Hmm, maybe I'm the weird one. I'M the heater in our family; hubby has told me that my skin is hot to the touch sometimes. I won't let him cuddle more than a few minutes at bedtime. :)
And did you know that identical twins have different fingerprints? I found that fascinating!

oddly enough, I am the one on fire every single night! our queen sized bed is made up like 2 twins. big fluffy down comforter on DH's side. simple sheet and cotton blanket on my side. it's ridiculous! if anything, I'm making DH hot and sweaty! oh, the pg hormones!

congrats on 17 weeks! woo hoo!

My husband is always a thousand degrees. It makes me insane!

Eww, yes, I wake up damp sometimes from his sweat. So we keep the temp cooler and he sleeps with only a sheet on him and I have the sheet plus 2-3 more blankets only on me. It works for us!

17 weeks- how exciting!!!

It must just be a man thing. I had the same problem with my husband when I was pregnant.
That's really exciting that you're feeling those first little flutter movements! So amazing!

My dh always radiates heat, he sweats outside when it is 30 degrees. I love your updates, especially about the finger prints, how cool!

It must be a guy thing that they are so hot during the night. It always drives me nuts in the summertime. Thanks for the encouraging comments you left for me. I always appreciate them.

Congrats on 17 weeks and thanks for the Bday wishes!!!

I think some people just generate more heat than others, you see, I'm the warm body in this establishment and "Dad's" the one constantly pushing me away when I try to eek some of the cool off his body.

My husband is a portable heater!! If I'm cold I just need to cuddle him for 5 minutes and I'm toasty warm!

Yay for 17 weeks and fingerprints! :)

You are well on your way and your pomegranate will be a cantaloupe in no time!!!
