The Return

Thank you for the compliments about the wedding - We had a blast.

BUT now - back to reality ... UGHHhhhh..

Laundry is stacked to the ceiling ..... MT thinks he should be held all the time. (product of being on vacation and everyone passing him around like a football and providing him lots of entertainment)

But the worst part ... I am finally having my first "real" period. I say real because I have been having this period for longer than 1 day. The other periods were more like spotting for a few hours. Last week I thought I had a cyst. I had that weird pressure-y/pinchy feeling Like I remember cysts being. I have been complaining about backache for a few days now, yesterday it was really awful. Enough to warrant med's and sleep. I thought I had pulled a muscle. I went to the bathroom and discovered the return of the Aunt no one wants ... and Today..OH today .. Well, It is just like I remember .... UGH the bloating and pain ..I am off to take a hot shower.

Anyone have or ever use one of these?

I've never seen the babycook thing, but that's soooo cool! (of course i'm a gadget freak)

Sorry that AF is being such a bitch. I hope she quits being so evil soon.

I'm just getting my first taste of how much laundry I'll have to do. I finally began unbagging/boxing all of the gifts and washing all of the boys stuff. Holy crap I've got a lot of laundry!!

That dress was smokin'!!! You all looked great. I hope it was fun, even with the family stress.
I'm not looking forward to the return of AF. We'll see what happens!

I hope the shower helps.

I've never used one of those, but anything from Williams-Sonoma has never let me down.

I feel for you with AF. My first cycle sucked the big one and I've been crampy ever since. Bleh.

Never tried the baby cook...but I WANT IT!!! :)

Damn that AF!!! I hate her.

About your previous post - I'm glad you and your sister talked and that you were honest and open with your feelings. I've heard from many others that the feelings from IF do not go away simply because you have a baby. Those experiences and feelings stay with us because, technically, we still belong in the IF community.

I have never seen that - but I am majorly intrigued. Please be my guinney pig and buy one and let me know! I want one. Hmmm - Christmas is coming :-) So glad you're doing okay and sorry for being MIA - I miss checking in with everyone - especially you :-)

Glad you are back!

I saw that Babycook on Cool Mom Picks and I've already put it on my Christmas list to Santa. I'm all about doing homemade baby food right now. Have you checked out wholesomebabyfood.com? So cool!

I'm sorry about AF. I hope I can keep her at bay for a few more months myself.

I use the low-tech (less-clutter-in-the-kitchen) approach of making soup and mashing it. He seems to like it.

Ohad is the gadget man, so we already have a fancy coffeemaker, a breadmaker, a rice cooker, food processor, stick blender, soda machine... to name a few... and not nearly enough counter space.

Sorry about your period. :(

Just wanted to drop by to let you know that I haven't forgotten you, and that I intend to come over to devour your blog soon.

Sorry about AF...she's never welcome, but keeps showing up.

That Babycook gadget looks really cool! And it doesn't look like it would take up a ton of counterspace either.

Hope you feel better today...

My first period after Luke was pretty brutal, but then they were normal after that.

You looked beautiful!! The wedding sounded like an intense experience for you. I am glad you were able to get some of those old icky IF feelings out. Like you, I hope that one day I will not feel so damn jealous and angry when I hear that someone got pregnant the old fashioned way. I can assure you that I am not even remotely there yet.

I read your other post about the challenges with intimacy that you are facing. And I want to say that your best posts start out with warnings about TMI and that is one of the things that I love about you. :-) Sweetie, it makes perfect sense to me that you would be shut off to that type of vulnerability. So many of us have built walls around our hearts in order to endure the pain of IF. It will take some time to take down that wall. Individual and couples therapy are great ideas. My therapist has been so helpful to me over the years - I don't know what I would have done without her. I have been struggling with intimacy issues since an abusive high school boyfriend and she is the only one who has really helped. Couples therapy helped Mr. LIW and I tremendously when we were dealing with IF. I would certainly recommend it. Mr. LIW really disliked it but he agreed that it brought us closer and was glad that we went. Please keep us posted. And feel free to email me privately if you want to chat about it.

Your son is adorable!!! I was so glad to see recent pics.

XOXO
