Post Vacation ?

The past 2 days have involved my child thinking that he has to nurse constantly .... as in ALL THE TIME (unless he has a bottle in his mouth ;)......to be happy. Apparently, now that MT is 9 weeks old, he has decided naps are for babies, Not Him. I have grown weary of fighting him on these 2 topics ...

He does nap after he nurses but as soon as I move him off my lap, he is beyond unhappy and no matter what I try, we end up back nursing .... Is he testing me? Anyone deal with this? Is this post vacation behavior?

If he wasn't so darn cute, I'd be upset.

On our trip, I forgot to mention that he got his first dip in my relatives Salt Water Pool. He wasn't in long due to the sun position. I didn't want him that exposed, but I really wanted to see how he liked it. He loved it. I think I just linked flikr to my blog to see the pictures.

Welcome to a growth spurt!! If you think it's fun now, wait until your body is caught up with his extra need for milk and he umm..sleeps for three days and isn't interested in the massively engorged breasts your offering!!

Seriously though ....likely a growth spurt...meant to build milk supply for a growing baby. Good luck.

I've always thought it is a good thing that babies are so cute or they wouldn't have made it this far through evolution! :)

I also think growth spurt. Babies will constantly want to nurse or latch on and off for a couple of days to get your body to up it's production. I know N has had a couple of days like that, I start feeling like I can't take bfing anymore, and then the next day we're back to "normal". They say a growth spurt hits b/t 6 & 12 weeks, then 6 months. Good luck! You're doing great though, don't give up.

Yup probably a spurt.

Oh boy- something to look forward to! Sounds like he might be out of sorts from being away? You're right- he is darn cute- too cute to be mad at!

ha ha ha! LB started doing the same thing. My solution has been to nurse with a good book or put her in a sling so when she falls asleep I can still be mobile. If I put her down, she is awake.

Well they say that after a vacation it takes people a while to readjust so maybe mt is just trying to readjust. Hopefully things start working out again soon for you.
