Orange you Praying for Stellan

First and foremost. Our Orange for Stellan:
DSC02368
Saying our prayers for you Little Boy.

Today MT has hit some new milestones. I was informed by my parents that he started doing "itsy bitsy spider" and clapping for the "If you're happy and you know it" songs. SO I tried it and he did it. How cool is that. I tried to get him to do it a few more times and he was very much over it.

MT also deliberately took 3 steps today. He has been slowly letting go of a hand while walking but today, He was walking by holding onto the wall for balance and let go and took 3 steps towards me. I am floored. So excited. We may have this walking thing down .... I need to get hte video camera out. But I have a question: Um, Shoes? What kind? We never put him in shoes ..It's so warm here, I thought no shoes helps them walk faster ... But if he is going to be getting down and trying to walk, Don't I need shoes?

I leave you with This Face:

omg, love his bath face!! That is priceless. :) And I love his orange! Why didn't I take a picture of our orange today?!

I'm not sure about the shoes, but I'm laughing because I've been putting B in shoes since the weekend we came home from the hospital. a) he has big feet and the shoes helps keep his socks on and b) we don't live in florida so his tootsies get cold. :) That said, his auntie got him some adorable crocs that I can't wait to put him in this summer. Would those work for MT? Kind of support-ish, yet breathable for your weather. Good luck!

We're not using shoes yet for LL, but ALL of my friends with (slightly) older babies swear by Robeez. www.robeez.com Apparently they're the absolute best baby shoes on the planet.

Robeez and Pedipeds are great. Brooklyn isn't walking yet, but she is cruising and these soft-soled shoes have been great so far!

So fun!

As for shoes, our EI therapist recommended Stride Rite for us; we went and had them sized (very important for first shoes!), and bought what the guy called "the best baby shoes." Unfortunately, they were pretty expensive, and doubly unfortunately, we had to buy 2 pair, but we figured it was important.
I've also heard Robeez are good, but I thought once they were starting to walk you were supposed to switch to hard-soles. But I don't actually know. :)

Love your orange, your smile, and your walking baby steps! He is so adorable - he is going to be quite the ladies man! As far as us - nothing has changed. Just MI crap laws make things difficult. But we're still moving ahead for Sept. No difference. I just need to be careful, you know? ((Hugs)) and what a cutie you have on your hands!

Everyone I know swears by Robeez, too. I got a few pairs at my baby shower and they are freaking cute. He looks so adorable in his photo!! Just want to eat him up. ;) I cannot believe this child is WALKING!!! Didn't you just have him like yesterday?
*hugs*

Yeah, I was going to say those little shoes that are like leather socks. I hear they are popular.

What a cutie! And so smart!

I am so far behind on your posts that I don't feel worthy of that cutey-cute pic at the end!!!

I was told that no shoes is better than shoes when learning to walk. We had gotten Tanner Robeez and Striderite pairs when he was little. As for Miss Poopy-Pants. I haven't even thought about it. Sad, huh? Especially since she is a girl! :o)

Shoes? Those things come in baby-size? Crap...guess the heathens will have to have some of those at some point in their lives (well, at least when school starts).

I can't believe MT is starting to walk!!!! Holy cow! It just doesn't seem like he could be old enough, yet. Wow.

I just can't get enough of his cute little face. Billy Idol face, and all! ;-)

Fabulous picture! I love it!!!

How about bringing MT to stride rite? I think they need hard sole shoes once they are solidly walking, but not until then. We use Robeez and love them as they are just like socks.

That face!!!! Love it.

Shoes.....Well, I have read that they walk better without shoes. But, I'm a shoe person with the girls (just recently btw, I like to seem cool). Anyway, have you heard of wee squeaks? They're deliciously annoying and squeak with every step taken. (The squeaker is removable.) We have some wee squeaks and some pedipeds.

The pics are great!

And the walking! WOW! MT really is a gross motor genius! He's so awesome. Sacha took his first steps this week too.

So! I went out to get him his first pair of shoes. It is recommended that children walk barefeet as much as possible. That is really the best way for them to balance and learn to use their feet. You're in a warm climate so that's great. Robeez, while so cute on babies, are not really appropriate for learning to walk.

You will go outside, so MT will need a pair of shoes. Like someone else said, it is really important to get them sized and fitted properly. And to buy a "good" pair of shoes, which, YES, are freaking expensive. Stride Rite are great, or other brands that specialize in childrens' shoes. If you go to a childrens' shoe store they will certainly be able to help you.

I would get MT a pair of sandals, he doesn't need closed shoes in FL! I bought Sacha a pair of running shoes, and his feet get awefully hot in them. When the weather is warmed up here I will definately invest in sandals.

This is so exciting that he is starting to walk.... he is probably all over the place by now!

I saw some people mentioned Robeez and I am not sure if this was mentioned... but Target has a similar brand that I heard is much cheaper! I have heard they are close to the same quality but who knows... some one may correct me on that :)
