Not seeing Red anymore

Sorry to hold out on you - I received a call from my dr's office Friday at 4pm and they explained to me that I was scheduled for a nurses appointment on Friday and not a dr appointment. I explained to her that I had never in my 4 yrs of going to them ever had a nurses appointment and never again ever wanted to get a nurses appointment. I explained to her that it was not acceptable for my mental state. I was expecting more care provided by me and thus got me really more upset than I needed to be at this time/state. She agreed that she should have explained to me about the nurses appointment and apologized that I was nervous about not being able to get a Doppler listen. It was too late to go back in the office that day and quite frankly, I was about 4 seconds from looking for a new practice.

Until, I calmed down, took some deep breathes and started to relax. A few days ago, I have started to feel movement. So I knew that if I would just get in a relaxed position and just breath in and out, and hope that I would feel some movement. I did ..and have been feeling movement all weekend sporadically of course and usually after a bath/shower and laying in bed. I am pretty sure it's movement.

Today at 4:30pm the nurse did call me to let me know that they did confirm it just being a UTI and I should continue the lots of water, cranberry (with no sugar), and antibiotics.

I have also taken off a week of work in hopes to get it under better control, rest up and finish up with the last few things for MT's 1st birthday party on Saturday. I cannot always run to the bathroom when needing to at work since we are on a time schedule and I need to take more care of myself than this particular part time job plus I have loads of things to do for the birthday party. It was just a good time to do it.

So - this with me, hopefully are getting better. I have contemplated many times driving to Jen's for a hb check. Then I talk myself out of it and try not to be a paranoid spaz!

The day of the bleeding, I did receive a call from the dr office letting me know that my triple screen/nt all came back fantastic .. Which of course is great news ..... Just wish I could magically hear the heartbeat and Know. I may have to call the dr office tomorrow and beg for a listen.

Thank Goodness Farrah! I know you are so relieved to know your little one is healthy and safe. Stupid UTI's. I had several when I was pregnant with Baby K.

Stupid doctors office. Boo!!!

Drive to Jen's! Piece of mind definitely makes it worth the drive (as if delicious baby thighs didn't already make it worth it). Of course you've got lots going on with the party coming up. WHY CAN'T I LIVE CLOSER!

I'm so glad that your infection is clearing up, though. I know how horrifiying it can be to see red (for no reason) when you go to the bathroom...I can't even imagine how terrifying it is at the point in your pregnancy you are. You're cool as a cucumber to the outside world, though!

So really...when are we moving closer together? ;-)

Thank God Farrah because I was so worried! I was praying that everything would be okay with the little one! Screw nurses appointments...I can only imagine how horrible you felt and a simple listen on the doppler wouldn't have been to much to ask for in my opinion! They should have checked the baby to give you that peace of mind! Anyways, glad all is good!

Phew!

Try the cranberry capsules! I find them much easier to take than all that bitter cranberry juice.

As far as the appt goes...nurses appt, doctor's appt, whatever...give the momma a listen! Would that have killed them???

I can't believe MT is going to be 1already! Gosh, time flies!!! Have a great time planning his party!

So glad that it is 'just' a UTI.

Glad it is clearing up, though. How can you stand unsweetened cranberry juice? I can't drink it.

I was wondering what you had heard. So glad to hear it was just a UTI. I hate those things! I would continue to beg for an ultrasound or a doppler check (would really shoot for the ultrasound) just due to the circumstances!!!

I'm glad everything is OK, and I'm really glad that you spoke up for yourself with your doctor's office. Good for you for putting yourself first and taking the week off. Nothing feels as good as time off from work!

Good! And you know you are always welcome to show up here for a doppler check if you want. You don't even need to call first.

Take care of yourself and remember to rest up as much as you can.

Tip for the cranberry... I usually get the absolutely nothing added kind from Whole Foods and then get a glass of water and add maybe a tablespoon of cranberry juice into it. It's kind of like drinking water with lemon and isn't so harsh. Every time I feel a UTI coming on, I start that regimen and it takes care of it. I've had so many, I know early when it's coming, so I don't usually get to the point where I have to get meds.

I'm glad the office called back and explained themselves...AND that you told them it was unacceptable.

UTI's are the worst...I hope the antibiotics, water, and cranberry juice clear it right up!

glad it sounds good. Don't they know you need to hear a HB to calm down??? Geez.
