9 weeks

"While your baby is still extremely small, he/she is now ready for rapid weight gain. The baby is beginning to look more like a little person since the embryonic tail is completely gone by week 9. The eyelids are fully formed, have fused shut, and will open again during week 28. All the baby's joints such as the knees, elbows, shoulders, ankles, and wrists are working and allowing the baby to move about freely within the amniotic sac. Your baby's heart began beating around day 24, but now his/her heart has divided into four chambers, and the valves are beginning to develop. Your baby can also make a fist, and he/she may begin sucking his/her thumb.
How big is your baby?Your baby is about the size of a grape, measuring about 1 ½ inches from its head to its rump, and weighs a fraction of an ounce."

18% of your pregnancy has passed, there is 82% left to go.

*Disclaimer - please know i am NOT complaining - just documenting and observing:
I am beginning to have a hard time sleeping at night. It seems to take me a while to get comfortable. I am and have always been a belly sleeper. So this laying on my back trying to sleep is starting to wear on me. Waking up to pee assures me that things are still progressing. I lay one of these by my bedside before I go to sleep because when i wake up to pee, i have to come back and eat that or mornings are much worse. Last night I found a love for these.

And I ALWAYS want these Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

mmmmmmmmm....cheeseburger.....[drooling]

A grape (why all the food references...it's close to lunch! ack!)? Wow! I can picture a tiny grape-sized baby just free-floating. What a beautiful perfect image!!! <3

Congrats on 9 weeks!!!!!

So glad all is well!

wow! i didnt know babies developed all their body parts so early. I sleep on all three sides myself & i recommend one of those curved memory pillows. The hype seems to be true because they do give you a good nights rest on your back or side. let me know if you need more details

MMMMMMMMMMMM, extra onions.....you bitch! :o)

I have been craving gas station nachos with cheese and chili. All I can think about though is Brittney walking out of the gas station bathroom with no shoes on though!

I am going to be getting a body pillow soon. I hate sleeping on my back.

Oh yeah, I've been going for the McD's double cheeseburgers. So good!

And I totally know what you mean - I'm actually a back or belly sleeper, but not much of a side sleeper and from what I understand side is best. My friend has scared me by saying her back sleeping is what gave her hemmoroids, so I try to be on my side as much as possible, but it's not that comfy.

Try having a bowl of cereal or some ice cream right before bed - anything dairy-based, really. That's helped me to not be quite so starving at night.

Yay for your grape!!

That's so funny! My first 3 months I ate McDonalds cheeseburgers at least 2-3 times a week. They're so good, and they didn't make me queasy! I still get about one a week. It just tastes so good! And, it's protein, right??

Congrats on making 9 weeks!!

Congratulations on another milestone!!! And...apparently I can't read correctly today because I thought that you put a cheeseburger beside your bed every night! That made me laugh at all the trips you would have to make through the drive-thru to feed your addiction! :)
*I read through again and got it the second time (for the record).

Glad to hear that things are still going so well! I was so happy to catch up on your blog today.

MUST FEED THE BABY.

That's all you are doing - being a good mom and getting your little one his or her Happy Meal!

Just caught up with your status. I've been busy this past month. Congratulations!

I'm a belly sleeper too and have had to become a side sleeper. I found that by buying a super soft body pillow that I could hug snuggly on my side that I've compensated some.

Oh, and the 2am pee trips are torture aren't they? I lie awake for hours after listening to the sounds of the city. I've got one of those noise machines packed away somewhere that I'm going to rip out soon and hook up to help there.

Hoping I'll still be on this journey with you.........

When I was pregnant with Michael it was Big Macs all the way. Now I try to space that out and try to substitute it with another craving from the previous pregnancy--tuna fish sandwiches!

Congrats on 9 weeks!

Wow, looking good!! :)

You are far too sweet. You are the ONLY person to say they are proud of me. So that means alot, thank you. :) Hubby took me out to dinner and I got new pics from 2 of my previous babies so that helped cheer me up too. Your support means so much, as always! THANKS!
